Cici’s Pizza promises you an experience that is inexpensive and fun. They have promotions that have you look for a penny that they threw outside so you can get a free meal. They promote an epicurean experience that will make you want to “line jump” to get ahead of the person in front of your line at the pizza promenade. They advertise a great game room experience so the kids that you bring will have entertainment while they are enjoying their dinner. I travel and am always looking for a bargain in eateries and also an experience while I am dining. I can say that CiCi’s offers an experience, but no bargain.
The overall experience is of pizza that has food pieces that I have to ask what kind of pizza it is because I cannot guess by looking at it, it has pellets of food that I cannot recognize, that folks, is sad. I stand there wondering where is the food that made the television guy jump ahead in line to eat it, thinking he was missing something great. The salad portion of your meal is usually sadly wilted and the tomatoes are better left there in the offering bowl.
The soups you again have to ask what they are because they have dumped the pasta into one that has some vegetables in it and something that resembles chicken soup, but you better ask if you are interested in it. Their presentation is not an appetizing selection of interesting soups du jours, but they beat the pellet pizza hands down any day. The pasta you cannot go wrong with it is a pizza sauce that they use on it, but really it is the best of both worlds and you don’t have to ask what it is. Cici’s pizza is a lot of bread with not a lot of substance and truly does not compete with the offerings available to you in other popular advertised establishments. It is not the bargain nor the experience they would have you believe it is in their commercials.
